Paul is CEO of Nwave. As an entrepreneur and corporate executive Paul has driven innovation, created new markets and scaled global businesses that have made a marked difference in the world. At 3Com, he led the wireless group and the formation of the WiFi alliance creating the branding and interoperability that has transformed the way we live and work today. As CEO of Orative, Paul was a pioneer in the unified communications space, acquired by Cisco as the mobile aspect of their UC portfolio. At Cisco, he later led two businesses – enterprise video storage, and consolidated end-point software security. Following Cisco, he led Mocana’s IoT Product Development and Management launching their mobile security solution and as CEO of Zentri developed and brought to market highly secure WiFi-enablement for many of the world’s leading brands as they embraced the vision of connected IoT services and product lifecycle management.
Yury is founder and CTO of Nwave. Yury graduated with honors from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology – home to eight Nobel Prize winners in Physics. He founded and successfully exited his first startup in the VoIP space at the age of 21. Yury started his corporate career at Deloitte Consulting where he built a high performing data analytics team for the oil and gas industry. Later at BP Strategy he helped drive numerous multibillion M&A deals and tackled complex asset portfolio optimization challenges. Always having a passion for startups solving important real world problems Yury realized that the IoT promise of “connecting everything” requires significant wireless technology innovation and rethinking. This is how Nwave was started.
Jeff is CMO of Nwave leading marketing and business development. Jeff’s career has focused on developing new markets – first for HP in the open computing space, and later at 3Com leading new market development in networking, and with Palm, Microsoft, and Symbian in mobile computing. At Plantronics, he was a pioneer in the wearable computing and Unified Communications spaces inventing body-worn contextual intelligence, which enabled an ecosystem of smarter, user-aware Unified Communications applications and drove strategic partnerships that produced over $500M in new revenues. Most recently, at Panasonic, Jeff led marketing for the company’s IoT Smart Cities business spanning transportation, energy, and digital media; and serves on the CTO Council for the Telecommunications Industry Association.
Paul is COO of Nwave leading finance and operations. Paul has a long established career serving in executive Finance and Operations roles for leading companies in the networking and communications spaces including Alcatel and Cisco. More recently he led IoT strategy and initiatives in the energy and water management spaces, and serves as co-chair of the Internet of Things Forum.
Yury Polyanskiy is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the Dept. of EECS at MIT and a member of LIDS, IDSS and Center of Statistics. Yury received the M.S. degree in applied mathematics and physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University. In 2000-2005 he lead the development of the embedded software in the Department of Surface Oilfield Equipment, Borets Company LLC. Currently, his research focuses on basic questions in information theory, error-correcting codes, wireless communication and fault-tolerant and defect-tolerant circuits.
